Tim, I think you're right...image quality doesn't seem to be effected and
now I'm not sure that the specks bother me $110 worth. Also I was thinking
that as prone to accumulating dust as the 28-135 IS seems to be, if I did
get it cleaned, maybe a few months down the road, I'd be having the same
problems again. I currently have 5 zooms and the 28-135 is the only one
that has a dust particle problem. Among those five, is the 100-400 which
probably displaces enough air to pump up a flat tire during it's zooming
function, and yet, no dust problems with that lens. I wonder, is there some
kind of sealing issue going on with the 28-135? I've heard of others (EF
28-135 IS) who also seem to accumulate an inordinate amount of dust
particles too. Hmmm.
