I use the Newton N7200VG bracket with the EOS 5 and VG-10 combo. This
bracket is set up so you can wrap your right hand comfortably around the
grip. Note that you should check the Newton Camera Brackets website
(http://www.newtoncamerabrackets.com/), since the product line has been
revamped recently. There is sufficient clearance to use the 28-70/2.8 or
70-200/2.8 zoom lenses, and although the combination is heavy, it is
well-balanced.
The OCSC2 cord is long enough. I wrap the extra cord around the 2" flash
extender (part no. N7033). You will need to order the flash extender or a
flash holder, as none is included with the bracket.
This is the setup I currently use for the photos on my site.
