What was the maximum f-stop of the lenses you used at the focal length you
used them at? What we really need is a benchmark test for a/f behavior --
hunting, kicking in of a/f assist and so on -- for each camera.

Also, as far as using a flash with a red or i/r a/f assist light, it has
been pointed out that it is very cumbersome to keep it attached at all
times. There is another problem or two. Is there a way to use the a/f
assist light without using flash -- i.e. letting the a/f expose the picture
without using the flash? And then, when you want to use it, is it quick to
toggle back and forth between them? The problem becomes one of manipulating
controls rather than taking pictures, and all that in low light. A small
supplemental infrared a/f assist attachment might be the ticket, if you
could also use either the built in flash or an attached flash at the same
time. But better they update the A2 and add the feature (and charge $800-900
for their trouble, I suppose).
