Gerry, it sounds like you're ready for the 1V. Personally although I'd
love to have one - since I don't shoot motorsports, soccer, etc, my old 10
does just fine for me. And, like I've said, I much prefer to have it on
manual focus most of the time, and use only the center focus point when I do
use AF.
It might sound strange, but if I had a 1V, very likely I would be using
the same way I use the 10, and very likely my shots would look exactly the
same as they do now. If you need the best autofocus camera on the planet,
you will just have to save up and get one.
You know those used EOS 1 cameras sitting on the dealer's shelf for a
little more than the price of a new 7/30 are looking like my ideal camera.
It's got a spot meter, right, and mirror lockup, and interchangeable
finders, and.... built like a tank to boot.
