The 400 2.8 is a big lens, especially with the hood! In your situation, when you mounted the flash on the hood... I assume you used the off camera shoe cord? Do you think light would have been blocked if you'd mounted the flash on the hotshoe? (of the Nikon 800) If you ever get around to using the Canon 600 with a hot shoe -mounted 550, let us (or me) know if the lens blocked any light. Again... in my case I'm only interested the "smaller" L lenses, but I guess it would be surprisingly reassuring to know that the flash isn't blocked on bigger lenses too. -Green __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
