Hi Tim,
I have the polarizer for the non-IS 300/2.8. Canon's literature lists a threaded
drop-in filter holder, but warns that not all threaded filters will fit properly
(into the lens slot, I presume), so I was wondering if anyone on the list had
used this holder. I don't have any experience with gellatin filters but gather
they are something of a pain, plus it would seem to be more economical to have
just one filter holder and three or four 48mm threaded filters than several
holders, each fitted with a different gellatin filter.
