I hesitate to recommend anyone but Canon Canada located at Dixie Road and
Courtney Park in Mississauga area, one outfit I have used to fix a 30 year
old 6x9 range finder camera and did a good job is International Camera on
Queensway in the Etobicoke area.
I can say that I had a horrible experience with Steeles Camera at Steeles
and Keele area, even though they are a "Canon authorized" outfit. The
intermittent autowinder problem I had with an A1 body/winder was diagnosed
as requiring a new power winder motor, well, it failed again soon just
before a wedding shoot that I bought a second A1 body since I figured it's
got to be the camera as the winder was "fixed" by this Canon authorized
outfit, imagine my disgust when the problem persisted right through the
wedding shoot.
When I opened the power winder unit the next day, I see a wire on the other
end of the winder had fatigued off the circuit board and is only making
intermittent contact, it took a couple minutes to warm up a soldering iron
and 5 seconds to fix this problem.
I won't even get into the response I got from Steeles Camera, suffice to say
it was very poor.
