Mine still works (barely), but is in poor condition. It lasted about
5 years before it became so wobbly that it was unusable. The EOS
dedication unit does not have a locking pin, and the flash would
often slide out just enough to prevent misfiring :-(

No wonder Canon added the locking pin to the hotshoe in the 430EZ
and the Off-Camera-Shoe-Cord 2!
