Should work, as long as you don't need E-TTL like all new digitals need. > I also have a Sunpak 120 J TTL - again, with Canon TTL > module - for remote TTL (either wired or wireless). Not that I know of, and does not seem possible from what I know. > Date: Wed, 24 Oct 2001 13:05:55 -0400 > From: Henry Posner/B&H Photo-Video <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: EOS Re: 550ex vs strobes > > At 02:54 AM 10/24/2001, you wrote: > >Studio flash manufacturers usually state a guide f-stop, > >which is metered with a standard reflector in 2 meters > >distance, making studio flash somewhat comparable to each > >other. > > A flash head can be designed to produce quite a high GN > if the reflector is designed to produce a hotter center > with relatively rapid falloff. That's why I said standard reflector. I meant specifically reflectors of typically 8 to 10" width with even distribution over approx 60 degrees, the most common standard reflector. Yes, this can be jazzed. Which is why studio flash is rarely compared just by W/s. There are other, much more important features. Bayonet mount for lightformers? Rotating such? Reliabilty? Transportability? Pilot lamp sockets and wattage of the lamps? > Two flashes with the same w/s and similar circuitry & flashtubes > but with different flash patterns will produce markedly different > GN ratings. That's what I meant by saying "Using a softbox you will have a smaller guide number than with a parabolic metal reflector." -- Michael Quack <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Es gibt Bilder, bei deren Anblick ich auch jedesmal gern einen fahren lassen mchte!
