Yes, the Elan 7 has the BP-300 battery/pack, vertical grip, which I pretty much keep on my camera. There's a vertical shutter button on it, an on-off switch, plus it enables you to use 4 AA batteries instead of 2 CR123's but will also take the 123's if you so desire. There are some problems with the LCD battery indicator when using AA batteries, but they seem to be only with the indicator - operation and battery endurance are normal, AFAIK. As far as wehat else you'll lose, I don't recall if the A2 has spot-metering or interchangeable focusing screens, but the E7 has neither. All in all, it's a great camera to use, very customizable, reasonably fast motor drive (3.5-4 fps), and an amazing metering algorithm. Gets almost as many keepers as my FTb! ;-) Ken Durling Website http://home.earthlink.net/~kdurling/ Alternate e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] * **** ******* *********************************************************** * For list instructions, including unsubscribe, see: * http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/eos_list.htm ***********************************************************
