I too (and I believe many others) have used NiMH batteries in the 540EZ and 550EX flash for the past 5 years, no problems what so ever, I was using 1,100 mA initially, then changed them to the 1,350 mA, then more recently (3 years ago now) changed to the 1,600 mA. > Can you > know that with a multimeter?
