Well, I never would have believed this was actually happening across the country until it happened to me! I took some quickie shots last night of a friend's daughter in her Halloween costume (A2, 28-105) and took them to a Walgreens for one hour developing.
I went in to pay for them and there was a panoramic box rubber-banded to the normal 4x6 box, with about 7 panoramic shots in them. Obviously, I inquired. The girl behind the counter said some are just that way on the roll of film. I said, "you mean, your machine *reads* them that way?" But she was quite positive they came on the roll that way. I got out the negatives and asked her to point out to me the frames that are panoramic shots. Obviously, she didn't know what she was looking for and got the manager. He actually knew what he was talking about, apologized, and reprinted normal 4x6s of the missing prints and said that the print machines sometimes read a scene as panoramic because of the composition, and print them as panoramics. I remember someone else on this list had the same thing happen to them. But I think it was at a K-Mart or Wal-Mart. Unbelievable! I wonder how many unsuspecting souls they's snuckered. -Green __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Make a great connection at Yahoo!
