Hi John,

I'd check out eBay for a bargain and B&H, Adorama or CWO for a no brainer
purchase. I know a lot of people here don't like eBay but I've had only
good experiences buying through this service. Just be careful to fully
communicate ALL of your concerns with the seller before bidding and consider
the feedback of the seller posted by his successful bidders.

I've seen new D30 kits go for $1,300 or so, they apparently don't qualify
for the new promo bundle coupon being sent out with the newer kits and I'm
uncertain what the differences are but this seems a reasonable initial price
to get your feet wet. There are many details to pay attention to though and
the cost of the camera is only the beginning of the items you will need to
acquire to start in digital imaging.

Good luck and keep us posted on your shopping experience.

Regards,

Chip Louie
