Hi Don, What kind of body are you using them on? This makes a difference as some older bodies are not cross type or high precision AF and some like the EOS 1n only use the cross sensor with f/2.8 or faster glass. I have both of these lenses but have only EOS 1n bodies and an EOS 1 body. I tried it in the house and the EF 70-200 2.8L is definitely faster focusing than the EF 28-105USM on the EOS 1n body. The EOS 1 is more mixed but the EF 70-200 2.8L is still faster in AF than the 28-105.
