Hi Darrell,
Not sure if anyone has already replied but the BP-300 battery pack for the Elan 7E (aka EOS 30/33) does NOT support Lithium batteries. If fresh Lithium AA batteries are in the BP-300, the power surge may be too high for the camera and can cause damage to the electronics. The BP-300 allows you to use four AA batteries or two CR123A batteries. If you are using the CR123A batteries, they can be lithium, but not the AA batteries. I've only used Alkaline AA batteries on my BP-300, so I can't comment on Nicad or NiMh batteries. Do any of you Elan 7/7e users with BP-300 know if this combo can take Lithium AA's in the BP-300. Also how about ni-cads and ni-mh rechargebles. I don't own the combo or have access to the manuals, but I do want to make sure the data is accurate on my site.
