My beloved Canon EF 28-70L/2.8 is showing its age and its mileage and is probably in need of a "CLA" (clean, lube and adjust). The lens is feeling a bit loose, the lens mount was slightly damaged years ago, and the sharpness at 2.8 has noticeably degraded.
I am in the SF Bay Area, and near Keeble and Shucat, etc. Is it advisable to deal directly with Canon, or go through a local repair shop?
