Everybody else seems to have good luck in the rain, but my last experience
was not quite as nice (photo wise). I got caught in a sudden thunderstorm
while backpacking in southern Utah. Tried taking pictures of the water
falls forming on the canyon walls all around me, but after just two pictures
my camera locked up and would not operate until it dried off. No harm done
to the camera, but I really wanted to keep taking pictures. This was with a
Canon EOS 3 camera + Canon 28-105 lens. I now carry a very thin plastic bag
with me that I can use to protect the camera and lens.
