Yes, Vesa, you're right. I both 550s are set to slave. The ST-E2 is off-camera when I press the pilot button to fire the slaves. The ST-E2 uses infrared to fire the slaves, not white light. Which makes me wonder why they didn't do the same on the 550s as masters. I know you're all going to tell me it's in the book, but the 550s really do use white light to send info to other strobes?!? I use my flashes in manual mode only when they're off-camera, so I don't know for sure. I'm on the road and don't have the book in front of me.
