I thought about buying the tripod mount complete. However, when checking it out, in "Canon Lens - Technical Report Vol. 15", I noticed that the mounting ring was the same design as that used for my 70-200. Not wishing to spend any more than necessary, expecting only limited use on the macro, I asked CPS Repairs about the adapter collar. They thought it would work and suggested I call H. Lehmann (01782 413611) to order the part. I am a pro photographer with no "special connections", not a repairer. I am 90 percent certain it will work and have placed the order. I'll report on list.
