Not true. At F2.8 it shows the 85mm at .76 and the zoom at .75
At F4 they are both at .80 so the zoom is NOT sharper than the
fixed focal length. If you shoot with any back lighting you may
be advised to use the 85mm fixed focal length to limit the
potential ghosting problem. Less elements=less reflective surfaces.
BTW, the distortion on the zoom is -2.01% to -2.04% where the 85mm
is only .83% and you also get a faster optic but alas no zoom. :-(
