Never being afraid to be the odd man out, for portraits I like Kodachrome 
64 with a Heliopan 81A filter.  It has to be a Heliopan 81A filter, which 
are a little stronger, but just the right tone.  Kodachrome 64 is 
reasonably flat, making it a nice portrait film.

RMS numbers I find close to useless.  If the film and picture are sharper, 
they appear less grainy for a given RMS given my observations.  They have 
some meaning, but their not as absolute as one would hope.

I'm not even sure of the original question, but maybe someone will find 
this useful.  Thanks for reading.
