Hi David,
Time to time I am using Russian lens MIR-20 20mm/f3.5. with M42 mount adapter for EOS. Say, price/performance is OK for me. The new lens cost some $100. Metering on EOS50 works fine, however lens is heavy if compare to Canon lens and takes some time to get to use it quickly. The lens is produced by Russian factory (http://www.zenit-foto.ru/) I bought this lens due to its affordable cost and I was not sure if I am interested in wide angle photos at all, simply to test it. I would say - good lens for testing your interest in wide angle photography for small money.
