Hi, According to http://www.manfrotto.com/ the Manfrotto 449=Bogen 3449 is rated at only 5 kg load, while the Manfrotto 3016=Bogen 3016 is rated at 10 kg. I much prefer the Manfrotto 334B=Bogen 3245 because of its ability to adjust height using only one hand. It is also rated at 8kg load. That is strong enough to hold an EF 100-400 IS USM with 2x TC on an Elan 7E, as well as for other applications.
