They would in that you could get a sense of how many millimeters past the 
last grid/cross-hair you have for the "real" frame.

But you know, you are only losing about 10% "quality" by overframing. I 
personally wouldn't risk it too much by cutting it close. A lot of printers 
have trouble printing full-frame anyway. Using a finer resolution film 
would easily get you that 10% back.
