Hi folks, I tried my D30 with e-ttl flash couple days ago (Sigma Super 500 EF).
The results were pretty all over the place, they were couple right on exposures, but it was mostly bad. I heard that a lot of people use thrystor style flashes with D30 and get good results. But I love the focus assist light of Sigma (or any other e-ttl) flash, it turns dismal focusing of D30 in to very acceptable one. But I am not happy with the e-ttl results at all. And Sigma 500 does not do thrystor style autoflash. Somebody suggested putting a st-e2 on top and using the thrystor as well at the same time. Thrystor (Sunpak 383) for more consistent flash results, st-e2 for flash assist.
