Yesterday, I was trying to figure out how to get the fastest response time on my EOS-30. I thought I'd manually focus, put it in manual mode, and see how fast it would fire.
The strange thing I noticed was that if I turned the focus ring before taking a shot, there was a (very) slight delay. If I didn't touch the focus ring, the shutter tripped almost as soon as I pressed the button. Tried this several times with the 28-105USM and the 100/2.8 USM macro lenses. So, what does this mean? Maybe the lens is communicating focusing distance info to the camera (quite likely?) Maybe something to do with focus confirmation? Has anyone experimented with this? Does this happen with other EOS bodies as well? * **** ******* *********************************************************** * For list instructions, including unsubscribe, see: * http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/eos_list.htm ***********************************************************
