Your 28-135 with the 25mm extension will focus *inside* the lens for focal lenghts less than aprox 40mm (You can actually use that to see the dust inside your lens... cool, he?? :-) . After that you can focus on an object and your working distance will increase with the focal length you choose. At 70mm you can focus on an object few cm away from you... that's for sure.
