Hi
I just bought a Rebel 2 with problems.
The AF hunts and can't seem to lock except in
extremely bright light such as when pointing straight
at the vertical edge of a lightbulb. In all other
situations like the vertical edge of a building in
daylight it just hunts. The lenses are fine, I've done
all the nobrainer stuff like cleaning contacts,
pulling off the top front and bottom plates to look
for obvious signs of damage and have even gone as far
as to read the user manual. Is this a common or known
failure with the Rebel 2? Is it usually traced to a
chip? Does the sensor go bad after a while? Is there
an known fix other than handing it over to Canon.
Many Thanks
Javier
