Ben,

Why are you hung up on discontinued cameras?  There are a lot af current
digital cameras that are in your price range.  The way technology goes,
the newer cameras usually have more features and are less expensive or
the same price.  So for the same money you can get a better camera.

Look at the newer offerings from Canon, Minolta, Nikon, Olympus, and
Pentax.  You can visit their sites and choose there.
