That is correct for pros working in certain fields as news, sports, etc. But there are many other fields where film, in particular slides, makes more sense then digital. For many more years there will be a considerable amount of pros that still want film cameras. I do not think Canon or Nikon will just ignore them. They certainly will put a higher emphasis on digital cameras but the 1v might not be the last pro film camera, even less so the F5. At the time the F5 came out it was not clear how the pro market is going to react to the coming D1. So I am sure Nikon kept on developing a new pro model. I guess Canon is doing the same but depending on how the market evolves they might drop that project at some point of time. Just my thoughts.
