I bought the 17-35 f2.8 L lens a few years ago. To the contrary of others who have not been entirely pleased with this lens, I have gotten excellent images that have won several top category awards in camera clubs in Minnesota and also Nevada. This piece of glass cost a bundle, but it completely exceeded my expectations. I don't think that this lens gives up anything to fixed focal length lenses. The ease of use, low weight and zoom range make this my most carried lens. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I am mine. Lots of good luck!
