Do you mean protecting it against scratches? If so, you could use a product called WriteRight, which is intended to protect the screens of electronic organizers (PDAs), such as Palm Pilots. It's a transparent, adhesive plastic film that comes in different sizes, for different PDAs, and can easily be peeled off again. You can cut it to the size/shape that you want.
