I hope someone here can help me. Perhaps Canon is listening and will speak up. I have a DCS 520 that gets used. And used a lot. Unfortunately, Canon no longer seems to support their repair work on the 1N bodies that are used in this camera.
I had a 3rd shutter fail @ 300 frames. Kodak sent it to the repair facility to be fixed. First, they called and told Kodak there was nothing wrong. Kodak told them how to replicate the error. Which they must have finally done. now I am told that this new shutter will only last me 70,000 frames!!!! Which will last me until my heavy season starts in December. Additionally, I (and Kodak) is being told that they can no longer repair my camera body. No reasons given. Lots of $$$ guesses, but no physcial reasons that we can come up with. If you cannot tell, I am not in a good mood. I am tired of my cameras failing to live up to published specifications. I am not asking for miracles. just a product that is supported and stood behind. Perhaps someone can help explain to me what is going on here?
