Happens our Canon guy was here this morning. Seems Canon based their expectations on demand on the demand they had for the D30, figuring that the EOS 1D was around as a pro model, so the D60 wouldn't blow the doors off. Turned out the D60 is blowing the doors off. Canon has plenty of chips, but final assembly is not entirely automated.
