To me the 1D was never even considered as a workaround for the lame AF of the D30. Not looking at the price (which would not be a problem), I reject the camera for the bad digital interface (everything around the back LCD), which is so much like the Kodak DCS that I assume that the 1D core is fully a Kodak core in a Canon body. The 1D was never a competition against the D60.
