Hi Dion,
Before you point the finger at your camera body, if I were you I'd try
processing a cheap roll of half unexposed film at your lab. Get the
cheapest film you can and shoot only half the roll using your EOS body and
MANUALLY REWIND! When you get it processed at your lab get single small
prints. I'd bet the film comes back with scratches after being processed by
your labs' minilab processor.
Shoot only half the roll and manually rewind, this trick is the important
bit! If only the exposed part comes back scratched it may indeed be your
camera body. If the whole roll shows scratches the minilab machine your lab
probably uses is not maintained properly or their film handling is sub par,
in any event you need a new lab. Of course this will only work if your
camera does not wind the whole roll out when you load a roll of film, I
don't remember and I'm too lazy to look up if the EOS 300 is one of these
bodies or not but you should know. If not read your manual to find out.
Hope this helps!
Regards,
Chip Louie
