Hi Ray,

That EF 20-35 2.8L is a fine lens!  As to tightening the hood fit I think it
will depend on what is worn.  If the mount part of the hood is worn which is
easy to see, buy a new hood.  More expensive to fix is if the metal barrel
of the lens where the hood mounts is worn or cracked, this will need to be
replaced which required partial lens disassembly and replacement.  Look and
see if the grove where the hood mounts is showing wear through the black
anodized coating if not it's the hood, if bare metal is showing the lens
barrel is worn.  BUT a new hood may still mount tightly, try it!  The barrel
is not cheap but not too expensive compared to a total lens rebuild.
