After all this talk about the EF 300/4L IS being "a dog" and "a disaster",
I started wondering what alternatives those of us who feel that the 200mm
end of our 70-200/2.8 is too short for some shots, are left with? If you
want IS on a long lens, but don't want to sell the car to buy a 300/2.8 IS,
I think that the 100-400 IS is the only viable option. Those who have shot
with these lenses, what do you think? How do you compare image quality and
versatility? I think that the zoom should be more versatile. You can switch
between 300mm and 400mm without having to take off the lens to install a
1.4x converter. BTW, anybody know what are these lenses true focal lengths?

Regards

Hugo
