I'm not sure what happened and it probably was me, but has anyone had any experience in this combo for bird photography in flight? Most of my results were not in focus some very bad. I'm not sure if it was just the fact that the lens was slow to acquire the focus before I pressed the shutter or what. The birds were in flight and moving is was using aiservo in appature prioity in sunlight. I was however able to capture some shots but most were soft or out of focus. Any advise on your experience would be appreciated. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - I had a similar experience when I first bought this lens. The best bet in using it for birding is to set the AF to central point by turning the dial next to the viewfinder to 0 (you can leave it as ECF but I find this the best method for fast moving subjects). Next, check to see if your AF mode is set for servo. Last, make sure you are in IS mode 2 if you are panning. Doing this should eliminate your problem. The last two are what ruined many shots for me the first time out with that combination.
