Hi, the ((0)) is the switch on off of the beep for the preselected focus. The thin ring you are talking about is the ring to come back to the preselected focus. for that: -focus on the point you want to memorise than, -press the button, focus preselection (or something like that) you will here a beep if the beep function is on. now each time you turn the thin ring you will the lens will focus on the distance you memorised.
