Hi All,
First of all, thanks to all of you , who answerd my P&S question. I still
have some things to consider to make a descision, but major requirments for
the P&S for me would be - high quality lens - 24-to 40mm fixed is fine, and
for it to be very portable.
Now, another question and a favour to ask. If anyone knows, or better yet
has a chance to try this out and let me know - I'd very much appreciate it.
What I need is to find out if a lens hood from either Canon 70-200L 2.8 or
maybe Canon 28-70L will fit a Sigma 70-200 2.8 EX. I lost one for my sigma
and while I can get a new one from them - it seem easier and less expensive
to get a Canon one used.
All these lenses are 77mm. Only question is - will the hood from Canon
lenses align and actually fit the way it's supposed to on Sigma EX 70-200
lens. If anyone could try this out for me and let me know - it'd be great.
I,
unfortunatelly, have a local store that has all that Pro glass to try this
out myself.

George,

First for a fixed lens P&S you did not specify price range.
That being the case, I would opt for a Leica Minilux with its 40mm F2.4
Summarit lens.
I would also look at the Contax T3 with its 35mm F2.8 Sonnar lens.
Also the Nikon 28Ti or 35Ti or the Minolta TC1. There is also the Rollei
AFM35 (its made by Fuji) which is an excellent camera. All will deliver
remarkable results.
If a zoom, I personally used and liked the Leica Minilux Zoom. It has a
first rate 35-70mm F3.5-6.5 zoom which does not require fast film like many
zoom P&S cameras.
On the cheap you can get good results from an Olympus Stylus which offers a
good quality triplet lens.
Hope this helps.

Peter K
