Hey Chuck,
I like the Quantum Turbo or Turbo Z for this application. I shoot mostly
motor sports, yacht racing and portraits and use 540EZ's with my EOS 1n's
and 1nRS bodies. They cycle my 540EZ's at full output in about 1-2 seconds
and almost instantly when used as daylight fill in A-TTL mode. When I use a
540EZ flash as daylight fill on an EOS 1n w/booster with film advance speed
set to high (6FPS), I find I can shoot nearly continuously! The Quantum
Turbo Batteries are the fastest cycling portable external high voltage
battery packs available and work great for the 550EX and 540EZ Canon
flashes.
I have a couple of good used Turbos and find that I don't really need two of
them so I'd be interested in selling one for about half what B&H sells them
for though you'll need a cable for it. I bought the second one while
getting the first one a new battery. Email me if you have an interest.
Cheers/Chip
