I am really pissed off with EOS-Link software and my EOS 1V. I bought the system slightly used earlier this year and I have shot about 100 rolls with it to date. The previous owner used custom functions in order to leave film leader outside the film canister and silent rewind with manual push-button rewind option. Almost every time I plug my 1V to PC, the camera loads old custom functions automaticly into it without warning. I downloaded couple shooting info packages to my PC just last night before today's job and everything was right. Then, while shooting at sea today, I opened the door of the camera back when the film was shot, but not rewind into canister - of course because I though the 1V would rewind it automaticly as it did in my last photosession. The film inside the camera was ruined I suppose and this makes me really angry. The camera had loaded those stupid settings last night even though I am fully sure that I did not even touch custom function panel.
Has anyone encountered similar problems? I have loaded new setting to 1V at least five times and it accepts them, but then changes to old settings just without warning when I download shooting data to my PC. I now checked my setting, they were wrong and I changed them back. Then I closed EOS-Remote -software checked them again: everything was fine. Still, I am sure my 1V find those wrong settings again some day in near future and I am again ruining film during a hectic shooting.
