Mind boggling indeed... specially when you think that CCD's (I quite sure
the same applies to CMOS too) work much better in the low temperatures. And
with low, I don't mean -20 degrees Celsius, but extreme temperatures
like -100 to -200 and such... the noise for instance virtually disappears
and so on. And of course, if the mechanical cameras can go way below 0
degrees... what is then the problem? I don't think it's the power supply
either, or is it? Should not be the memory cards either - but perhaps the
microdrives can not operate reliably below 0 degrees?
