I am still obsessing over the possibility of getting an EOS 3 and using my 7
as a back up body. My greatest concerns have been alleviated with a bit of
research:

Weight-I am told that without the power booster the weight is not too bad.

Loudness-Well not too much can be done about that

Metering-Apparently thegeneral feeling is that the metering is at least as
accurate as the 7 and some would say even better...and you get a true
spotmeter.

Focusing-Again, most folks seem to think that the autofocus is at least as
good as the 7 with the benefit of autofocus with the center sensor at f8.

My only question now is that of where the camera is in the product cycle.
Are we likely to see any type of 'upgrade' to the 3. My sense is that the
new technology and 'upgrades' are more towards the digital arena and to more
consumer models. Not really sure what they would upgrade in the 3...?newer
metering algorithms ?make it lighter etc. Is the 3 likely to remain the 'low
end' pro body for some time to come or is there likely to be a replacement
soon?

Also, one last question...my 7 is without eye control and the 3 has it...how
good is the eye control on the 3 if you wear glasses and shoot with glasses
on? If it doesn't work well,is manual focus point selection with the # of
points reduced to 11 fairly rapid?

Thanks.
