I am still undecided about getting an EOS 3 and was wondering about a few specific comments:
I posted this to photo.net and got at least one response suggesting that there was significant mirror slap vibrations induced by the 3 that might be troublesome at lower speeds..is this the case from people who have had experience with the camera doing macro and using long teles? "I am wondering about the relationship between the loudness of a 35mm camera, which I assume is directly related to "mirror slap", and the degree of mirror induced vibration that one would expect. Does it follow that the louder a camera is that the poorer the mirror damping is, or do I have this all wrong? The specific reason that I ask is that I have a Canon Elan 7 and am thinking of turning it into a back-up body and getting an EOS 3 as my primary body. But the 3 is apparetntly quite a loud camera....so I am wondering if this translates into more mirror induced vibration. I do a good deal of macro work and use MLU for that, but am thinking towards getting a super tele and trying a bit of bird photography. I am concerned that in lower light and slower shutter speeds that IF the above is true it might cause problematic vibrations, perhaps moreso that the Elan 7, which is very quiet. In the wildlife situation MLU would be used less often with the subject not likely to stay still for too long (and perhaps the loudness scaring it away). Appreciate any comments regarding this issue..or any other 3 vs 7 issues. " Also, on Arthur Morris' web site, he seems to have some issues regarding the autofocus of the 3...I am not reproducing it here because I suspect that I am not supposed to, but here is the link... http://www.birdsasart.com/faq_eos3.html Any comments?
