The code inside the film cannister chamber should be the date code. My EOS-3 has a SN of 2769xxx and the date code inside is OO0918 (Oh-Oh-zero-nine-one-eight). That corresponds to Sept. 2000. The first "Oh" is the plant of manufacture. The second "Oh" is the year. The first two numbers is the month. The last two numbers is a lot number of some kind. Lens typically begin with a "U" as the manufacturing plant. Regarding the year, work forward and backward from "Oh"; "P"=2001, "N"=1999, etc. John Lovda --- Alex Zabrovsky <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hi > The EOS body I'm purchasing features serial number > 0416 (inside of battery > chamber), while > outside: 2704334 > > Are there any conclusions to be inferred from this > info ?
