HiYa I've bought a cheap 28-105 on the acutions, on the spec that it might be a goer.
I was sorta right. It operates electronically fine, but the zoom mechanism is VERY sticky. Like from the 28 position, it won't zoom out unless the lens is pointed down, and encouraged down ;-) Once out of the 35mm range it moves OK untill you hit the 105 end. I'm sure that this just means that the cams inside need some lubrication. I've pulled the back housing off, and found that one of the 3 lugs that hold it to the rest of the lens was broken.
