"If it ain't broke don't fix it" comes to mind.

So what is wrong with this long-established list?
1) No spam?
2) Users expected to reply at the bottom
3) Messages are bounced if you don't snip at least the header
4) A moderator that keeps things largely ON TOPIC


What aspect not covered by this will the new one cover?
1) Web interface - seemingly advert free
2) Separating film cameras from digital ones - avoiding one religious
war I guess
3) Separating lenses from cameras???


Running lists is (a) great (pain).
The very best are down to a few people with access to the resources
(server) and with the tenacity to keep up with what is a thankless
task year after year.


Good luck with the new venture:  I'll stick with good "old fashioned"
email for as long as W-J hosts this list ...
