I just checked again that shop that had the 1Ds listed and found out there
is a big rebate on the EOS 1V. The 1V body is selling for 1771 Eur and the
1V HS for 2099 Eur. These are the lowest prices I've seen in Europe. The 1V
HS price is only 100 Eur more than the price listed at the B&H site (any
comments Henry?). In my opinion this can only mean two things:
- A new pro analogue camera body is coming out soon. Not likely since the 1V
is fairly new and I really don't see much pros investing in analogue
equipment anymore.
- 1V sales are expected to lower significantly, due to the new digital
full-frame SLRs. IMHO, pricing the 1V at the same level of the EOS 3 when it
came out and thus making it atractive to keen amateurs, is the only way to
go. Otherwise, the EOS 1V will not have a very bright future ahead.
As always, I'd like to hear other opinions.

Regards,

Hugo
